When you want to stay in the same field and climb the career ladder, this format is one for you. A functional resume format is viewed hesitantly by some employers because they still prefer the traditional approach. It focuses on the skills of the applicants and is more appropriate if you have limited experience in the field of work you are applying for. A lot of job seekers often confuse clinical job with a non-clinical job and vice versa. To get the facts straight, I’ve researched a bit on the difference between a clinical and a non-clinical job and here’s what I gathered:

Clinical Job. The work provides direct care to patients. Jobs include physicians, nurses, medical assistants, medical technologies and therapists, among others.

Non-Clinical Jobs.
The work does not provide any medical treatment to patients but is done within a medical facility. Jobs include medical billers and coders, medical transcriptionists, hospital executives, receptionists, human Resources, IT officers, administrative assistants and a lot more.

The answer to the question of what to choose between a clinical and a non-clinical job is a judgment call on the part of jobseekers. If you think you will excel “behind the scenes,” then a non-clinical job may be the best for you. The Two Sections of a Resume

As what has been said many times over, a resume plays an important role in the employment process. A resume has two sections: the assertion section and the evidence section.

In the first section, you assert your abilities, qualities and achievements. Try to write as truthful and honest as possible. This usually gives the employer the idea whether you are unique, capable for the job or a lesser candidate for employment.

The other section, which is the evidence section, is where you provide proofs on everything you have written, those things that you actually did. This will show that you really did what you have written. This is also what gives the employer a lasting impression of you. This time, it�s final. The employer can now determine if you can move on to the next phase of the selection process � the interview.
